Analysis and Design of a Standalone Electric Vehicle Charging Station Supplied by Photovoltaic Energy

Nowadays, there is a great development in electric vehicle production and utilization. It has no pollution, high efficiency, low noise, maintenance. However, the charging stations, required to charge batteries, impose energy demand on utility grid. One way overcome stress grid utilization of renewable sources such as photovoltaic energy. The standalone stations represents good support Nevertheless, electrical design these systems different techniques sometimes complex. This paper introduces new simple analysis station powered by Simple closed-form equations are derived, for all system components. Case-study calculations presented proposed station. Then, modeled simulated using Matlab/Simulink platform. Furthermore, an experimental setup built verify physically. simulation results matched with calculations. show that process battery precisely steady PV insolation disturbances. In addition, charging/discharging storage responds perfectly store compensate variations.
